"We didn't set out to build a media company. We set out to honor a neighborhood — and discovered that the stories living in its streets were too powerful to keep quiet."
Born From A Walking Tour.
Last Mile Media began with a simple desire: to give Airbnb guests more than a comfortable bed in an overlooked corner of Montgomery, Alabama. We wanted them to feel the weight and the wonder of where they were staying.
When we started researching the history of the Five Points neighborhood along the Selma-to-Montgomery Civil Rights Corridor, we didn't find dusty textbooks. We found personal accounts — stories from our own mother, aunts, and grandmother. Stories of humiliation turned to triumph. Of segregated bus stops they endured, then marched through on the path to claiming their rights.
Those accounts became Miss Inez — an AI avatar who walks guests through history as it actually happened, told by the people who lived it, delivered via geolocation along the Civil Rights Trail. That project became the foundation of everything Last Mile Media does: turning overlooked stories into cinematic, revenue-generating experiences.
